Bobby V. Elder, MA, LPCA

Bobby Elder earned a BA in Psychology from Oral Roberts Unversity in 1985. He obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling from Denver Seminary in 1995. At Denver

He has worked in the human service and counseling fields for many years.

He has had a wide range of counseling experience. At the Denver Seminary counseling center, he provided counseling for children, teens, adults, and families. At Providence House (a halfway house for teens and adults) he provided emotion, spiritual, life-skills, and vocational counseling. He has served on the pastoral staff as a youth minister in two churches.

Bobby has had extensive leadership development experience. At Wheaton College he served as a baseball coach.

Since moving to North Carolina in 2008, Bobby was the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Grace Christian School. As Assistant Prinical his primary responsibility was for student discipline. As Athletic Director, he coached the baseball team.

Bobby is currently pursuing an MA in spirtual formation and leadership at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. At his current church, Bobby is on the advisory board. His area of responsibility is focused on discipleship and spiritual formation.

Bobby currently offers individual, premarital, and marital counseling to men and women. His areas of interest include:

  • Men's issues, including: relationship issues, identity concerns, burn-out and other career issues, workaholism, sexual addiction, pornography, anger management
  • Depression, grief and loss
  • Attachment and relationship issues
  • Working with pastors and church leadership concerns, such as pastoral burn-out
  • Working with members of the military and their families
  • Working with teens and their families on concerns such as: anger management, pornography
  • Working with athletes on issues such as: performance issues, injury management, team building
