Psychiatric Services

Psychiatric Evaluation

Initial psychiatric interviews usually last about 60 minutes. We focus on the difficulty that brought you to our office and evaluate your signs and symptoms. The evaluation includes the use of standardized psychiatric rating scales.  We explore potential root causes of your condition, looking a generational factors, childhood and family issues, and stress or trauma in the present.

Bio-Psycho-Socio-Spiritual Model

We use a multidimensional for understanding your problem. Problems of living can be understood from 4 points of view: (1) bio-medical, (2) psychological, (3) social or situational, (4) spiritual. Our office is unique! We address all four.

Psychiatric Medication Management

More than 50 psychiatric medications are FDA approved for use in the US.  In addition, there many over-the-counter preparations that are also used to address psychiatric problems.  Getting just the right medication for combination of medications can make all the difference.  We work hard to involve you in the process to make sure you get what’s best for you.

Counseling Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Your life can be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  In CBT, you learn to think differently about your situation, and you learn and practice effective strategies that will make a difference in the way you face and overcome the problems you face.

Christian Counseling

We find that a person’s spiritual life is important to emotional well-being.  Many clients want their spiritual beliefs to be brought in to the counseling session.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is a structured approach to couples therapy that focuses on the relational attachment or bonding between husband and wife.

Somatic Experiencing (SE) Therapy

A body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma aimed at relieving mental and physical symptoms by focusing on the client's perceived body sensations (or somatic experiences).

Eye Motion Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  With EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a cognitive behavioral treatment developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan.  It’s a cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on the internal dialog in a person’s mind and learning new skills to regulate emotion and handle emotional distress in a healthy manner.
